Configuring the FIB Entry Delivery Mode for Network Segment Routes

Usage Scenario

In the current FIB entry delivery mode, FIB entries for host routes and network segment routes are delivered to different modules by default, occupying resources of different modules. In real-world networks, there are often a large number of network segment routes, causing insufficient module resources. In this scenario, you can configure the FIB entry delivery mode of network segment routes as the extended mode. This mode ensures that FIB entries for network segment routes with the fixed mask length are delivered to the module where host routes reside, implementing flexible forwarding resource sharing and expanding network segment routing capability.

NOTE:

Only the CE6870EI and CE6875EI support this configuration.

After the FIB entry delivery mode of network segment routes is configured, you need to restart the switch to make the configuration take effect.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run system resource fib ipv4 extend mask mask-length

    The FIB entry delivery mode of network segment routes is configured as the extended mode.

    By default, the FIB entry delivery mode of network segment routes is the standard mode.

  3. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.

Verifying the Configuration

After the configuration is complete, run the following command to check the configuration.

  • Run the display system resource fib ipv4 mode command to check the FIB entry delivery mode of network segment routes on the switch.
