Application Scenarios for Microsegmentation

Microsegmentation allocates servers to EPGs and defines GBPs between EPGs to implement traffic control between servers.

Microsegmentation can be implemented on a standalone device or through the Agile Controller-DCN. When the Agile Controller-DCN is used, the Agile Controller-DCN provides EPG and GBP configuration and delivers the configuration to the forwarder through NETCONF interfaces.

In Figure 5-4, four servers belonging to the same subnet are deployed on the VXLAN network. The user requirements are as follows: Server1 and Server3 can communicate. Server2 and Server4 can communicate. Server1 and Server3 cannot communicate with Server2 or Server4.

Through microsegmentation, Server1 and Server3 on Leaf1 and Leaf2 can be added to EPG1, Server2 and Server4 are allocated to EPG2, and intra-EPG access and inter-EPG isolation are implemented.
