Intelligent traffic analysis is a basic feature of CE12800 and CE12800E series switches and is not under license control.

Feature Limitations

  • Currently, intelligent traffic analysis can be used to analyze only IPv4 TCP packets (including inner IPv4 TCP packets encapsulated in IPv4 VXLAN packets).
  • Only CE12800 series switches configured with the CE-L36LQ-FD, CE-L36CQ-FD, CE-L36CQ-FG, CE-L36CQ-FD1, CE-L36CQ-SD, CE-L16CQ-FD, CE-L08CF-FG1, CE-L48XS-FG, CE-L48XS-FD1, CE-L24LQ-FD, or CE-L12CQ-FD cards and CE12800E series switches configured with FD-X series cards support intelligent traffic analysis.
  • If intelligent traffic analysis and NetStream are enabled in the same view, NetStream takes effect preferentially.
  • If intelligent traffic analysis and sFLow are enabled in the same view on the CE12800E configured with FD-X series cards, intelligent traffic analysis takes effect preferentially.
  • Intelligent traffic analysis cannot be enabled on a network where per-packet load balancing (for example, flowlet or DLB-based forwarding) is enabled.
  • When all the following features are configured simultaneously, ACL resources are allocated for the features in the following order:

    Traffic mirroring < intelligent traffic analysis < MQC (traffic policing, traffic statistics collection, and packet filtering) < intelligent operation, administration and maintenance (IOAM) < discarded packet capture

  • Intelligent traffic analysis may fail to be configured if mirroring or ACL resources are insufficient.
  • Currently, intelligent traffic analysis can be used to analyze packets of a TCP flow that pass through the same card in both directions along the round-trip path. On a network with stack, M-LAG, or inter-card LAG deployed, this feature does not work if the TCP flow passes through different cards.
  • Intelligent traffic analysis cannot be used to analyze a specified flow (unidirectional or bidirectional) that passes through the same switch multiple times.
  • A management network interface cannot export flow analysis results.
  • The exported packets carrying flow analysis results can be forwarded only in common Layer 2 and Layer 3 modes. These packets cannot be forwarded through VXLAN or MPLS tunnels. Additionally, the destination address of the exported packets cannot be the IP address of a VBDIF interface.
  • The intelligent traffic analysis function does not support VSs. You are advised to use this function in non-VS scenarios. Otherwise, traffic in other VSs will be mismatched.
