(Optional) Configuring the Type of TLVs that an Interface Can Send


TLVs that can be encapsulated into an LLDPDU include basic TLVs, TLVs defined by the IEEE 802.1, TLVs defined by IEEE 802.3, peer device identity TLVs, and DCBX TLVs.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run lldp tlv-enable dot1-tlv protocol-identity

    Types of TLVs allowed to be advertised by LLDP are configured.

    By default, all TLVs except DCBX TLVs and Protocol Identity TLVs are allowed to be advertised by LLDP.

    To disable LLDP on an interface from advertising any TLVs except Protocol Identity TLVs, run the lldp tlv-disable command.

  4. Configure the interface to advertise LLDP packets carrying peer device identity TLVs.

    When the Agile Controller is used to automatically deploy network services, you can manually manage a device on the Agile Controller web UI. When multiple devices directly connected to the device go online, the Agile Controller cannot determine which configurations are to be delivered to these devices. You can configure the interfaces to advertise LLDP packets carrying peer device identity TLVs. The directly connected devices can receive the identity TLVs and notify the Agile Controller. The Agile Controller then can deliver corresponding network service configurations to the devices based on their identity TLVs.

    1. Run port identity

      A peer device identity TLV is configured.

      By default, no peer device identity TLV is configured.

    2. Run identity enable

      The LLDP packets advertised by the interface are configured to carry peer device identity TLVs.

      By default, the LLDP packets advertised by an interface do not carry peer device identity TLVs.

  5. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
