Configuring Traffic Suppression on User-Side Interfaces in the BD View
Context
To limit the rate of broadcast and multicast packets on the user-side interfaces in a BD and prevent broadcast storms, configure traffic suppression for packets of these types in the BD.
Only the 12800E that has the FD-X series cards installed supports this function.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring traffic suppression for a BD, set the link-layer protocol parameters for the interfaces in the BD and ensure that the link-layer protocol status on these interfaces is Up.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run bridge-domain bd-id
The BD view is displayed.
- Run { storm suppression broadcast access | storm suppression multicast access } cir cir-value [ gbps | mbps | kbps ] [ cbs cbs-value [ bytes | mbytes | kbytes ] ]
The traffic suppression function is configured on the user-side interface.
By default, traffic suppression is not configured on the user-side interface.
- This command only limits the rate of packets on the user-side interfaces. To limit the packet rates on both user-side and network-side interfaces, run the storm suppression broadcast and storm suppression multicast commands in the BD view.
- If both the rate of packets on the user-side interface and the rates of packets on user-side and network-side interfaces are configured, the latter one takes effect.
- Run commit
The configuration is committed.
