(Optional) Configuring the Device to Report Alarms When Packets Are Lost Due to Traffic Suppression
Context
You can run the storm suppression alarm enable command to enable the device to report alarms when packets are lost due to traffic suppression.
In the case of packet loss caused by traffic suppression, the CE12800 reports an alarm only after the related alarm reporting function is enabled; the CE12800E (equipped with the FD-X series cards) automatically reports an alarm, without the need of enabling the related alarm reporting function; the CE12800E (equipped with the ED-E, EG-E, and EGA-E series cards) cannot report an alarm for packet loss caused by traffic suppression.
The CE12800E (equipped with the ED-E, EG-E, and EGA-E series cards) does not support this function.
Alarms will not be reported if ICMP packets are lost due to traffic suppression.
