Overview of FIPS
Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) are security standards developed for cryptographic algorithm modules. You can deploy the FIPS function to enhance device security.
FIPS standards are developed by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and approved by Department of Commerce (DOC) to define security requirements for cryptographic algorithm modules in a security system. In FIPS series standards, FIPS 140 is a basic security standard for evaluating and authenticating cryptographic algorithm modules. Currently, the valid standard number is FIPS 140-2.
Unless otherwise specified, FIPS in this document refers to FIPS 140-2.
