Summary of VPLS Configuration Tasks

Summary of VPLS Configuration Tasks

After you configure basic VPLS functions, a VPLS network can be established. You can perform other configurations according to your needs. In addition to VPLS in Martini mode, the configurations include tunnel policies, HVPLS, and VPLS QoS.

Table 6-7 lists VPLS configuration tasks.

Table 6-7 VPLS configuration tasks

Configure VPLS in Martini mode.

A VPLS network can be established only after VPLS in Martini mode is configured.

Configuring LDP VPLS

Configure and apply a tunnel policy.

When VPN services need to be transmitted over tunnels or when multiple tunnels need to perform load balancing to fully use network resources, configure and apply a tunnel policy on the PE.

Configuring and Applying a Tunnel Policy

Configure LDP HVPLS.

When there are a large number of PEs on the VPLS network, configure LDP HVPLS to construct a hierarchical network structure, reducing performance requirements on the PEs.

Configuring LDP HVPLS

Configure VPLS parameters.

You can configure or modify VSI parameters on an MPLS L2VPN network.

Setting Related Parameters for a VSI

Configure MPLS L2VPN QoS.

On an MPLS L2VPN network, you can configure the DiffServ mode to differentiate services in a VPN and schedule service packets in queues based on the packet priorities.
