Configuring Route Reflection to Optimize the VPN Access Layer

Pre-configuration Tasks

If a PE and the connected CEs are in the same AS, you can deploy a BGP RR to reduce the number of IBGP connections between CEs and facilitate maintenance and management.

Before configuring route reflection to optimize the VPN access layer, complete the following task:

  • Configure the routing protocol for the MPLS backbone network to implement IP interworking between devices on the backbone network.

Configuration Procedure

All the following configuration tasks are mandatory. The RR is a PE device.
