Configuring the Function of Logging Route Quantity Threshold-Crossing

Configuring the Function of Logging Route Quantity Threshold-Crossing

Context

The function of logging route quantity threshold-crossing provides useful information that can help you monitor the impact on memory as the number of routes increases. If the number of routes exceeds the configured threshold, reduce the number of local access hosts.

In BGP/MPLS IPv6 VPN scenarios, VPNv6 serves as the control plane to deliver routes. As the number of hosts accessing the gateway increases, so too do the number of routes stored on the control plane. This results in a large volume of memory resources being consumed. After the function is configured, a user log is generated when the number of routes exceeds the threshold.

Procedure

  • Setting a threshold and log recovery percentage for the number of routes in a VPN instance

    1. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.

    2. Run the alarm-threshold route route-number [ recovery-percentage percentage ] ipv6 vpn-instance vpn-instance-name command to set a threshold and log recovery percentage for the number of routes in a VPN instance.

By default, the threshold and log recovery percentage for the number of routes in an L3VPN instance are not configured.

    3. Run the commit command to commit the configuration.
