Configuring an IPv6 MCE

Configuring an IPv6 MCE

You can configure a multi-instance routing protocol on an MCE device to isolate services of different VPN users on a LAN.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before configuring an IPv6 MCE, complete the following tasks:

  • Configure VPN instances on PEs on the multi-instance CE, and the PE that is accessed by it (each service with a VPN instance). For details, see Configuring VPN instances on PEs.

When VPN sites connected to the MCE device need to communicate with one another, configure VPN targets on the MCE device to implement VPN route cross. If the VPN sites connected to the MCE device do not need to communicate with one another, you do not need to configure VPN targets.

  • Configure the link layer protocol and network layer protocol for LAN interfaces and connect the LAN to the MCE device (each service using an interface to access the MCE device).

  • Bind VPN instances to the interfaces of the MCE device and attached PE devices and configure IP addresses for these interfaces.

Configuration Procedure

All the following tasks are mandatory. Perform these tasks in sequence to complete the IPv6 MCE configuration.
