Configuring a Stub Router
Context
A stub router is used to control traffic and instructs other OSPF routers not to use it to forward data. Other OSPF routers can have a route to the stub router.
In the Router LSAs generated by a stub router, the costs of all links are set to the maximum value (65535).
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run ospf [ process-id ]
The OSPF process view is displayed.
- Run stub-router [ on-startup [ interval ] ]
A stub router is configured.
The parameter on-startup [ interval ] specifies the interval during which the switch acts as a stub router. By default, the interval is 500 seconds.
A stub router configured using this command bears no similarity to a switch in a stub area.
- Run commit
The configuration is committed.
