Enabling the Trap Function for a Specified Module

Context

On a multicast device managed by the network management system (NMS), you can enable the trap function for a specified module to monitor events of the specified protocol.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. You can choose one or multiple operations to perform:

    • Run the snmp-agent trap enable feature-name msdp [ trap-name trap-name ] command to enable the Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP) trap function.

      By default, the MSDP trap function is disabled.

    • Run the snmp-agent trap enable feature-name pim [ trap-name trap-name ] command to enable the trap function for PIM.

      By default, the trap function is disabled for PIM.

    • Run the snmp-agent trap enable feature-name pim-std [ trap-name trap-name ] command to enable the public PIM trap function.

      By default, the public PIM trap function is disabled.

  3. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
