You can configure 1588v2 on BCs and use the BMC algorithm to determine the master-slave hierarchy between the GMC and devices on a 1588v2 clock synchronization network.

BC Deployment

In Figure 6-18, NodeBs need to synchronize the time with an external clock source. All the devices on the network support 1588v2. Each device receives clock signals from an upstream device and sends clock signals to a downstream device. In this manner, NodeBs can synchronize the time with the external clock source. The device connected to the external clock source is configured as a BC to synchronize the time with the external clock source and send clock information to other devices on the network. Other backbone nodes on the network are also deployed as BCs to synchronize the time with the external clock source and send clock information to downstream devices.

Set link layer protocol parameters for interfaces to ensure that the link layer protocol status of the interfaces is Up.
