Resetting a Device or Subcard

Resetting a Device or Subcard

Context

When a device or subcard cannot work properly, you can reset the device or subcard.

Only the CE8860EI, CE8861EI, CE8868EI support the reset of subcards.

Resetting a device or subcard will interrupt services. When a device or subcard is not working properly, try to rectify the fault before resetting the device or subcard, preventing services from being affected.

Procedure

  1. (Optional) Run display device

    The device status is displayed.

  2. Run reset slot slot-id [ card card-id ]

The device or subcard is reset.

Before you run the reset slot command on an M-LAG member device where a VBDIF interface is deployed to reset a card, you are advised to run the arp broadcast-detect enable command in the VBDIF interface view to reduce the service interruption time.
