Licensing Requirements

Synchronous Ethernet is a basic switch feature and is not under license control.

Version Requirements

Feature Limitations

  • Currently, all devices on a link must support synchronous Ethernet, and a maximum of 20 devices are allowed on a link for synchronous Ethernet.
  • When deploying a clock synchronization network, prevent clock signals from being looped on the clock synchronization network.
  • Only optical interfaces support synchronous Ethernet. After an optical interface has a copper module installed to become an electrical interface, it does not support synchronous Ethernet.
  • The interfaces that have been converted from another interface do not support synchronous Ethernet.
  • The CE6865EI does not support synchronous Ethernet after the interface rate mode is set to GE.
