Configuring Active/Standby Switchover

Configuring Active/Standby Switchover

In a stack containing multiple switches, you can manually perform a switchover between the master and standby switches during software upgrade or system maintenance. After the active/standby switchover is complete, the original master switch restarts and joins the stack, and the original standby switch becomes the new master switch.

Before an active/standby switchover, check whether the requirements are met for the stack to perform an active/standby switchover.

During an active/standby switchover, existing services will not be interrupted.

  1. (Optional) Run display switchover state

Information about active and standby switchover is displayed, which helps check whether the stack meets switchover requirements.

You can perform an active/standby switchover only when the Switchover State field displays Ready.

  2. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  3. Run slave switchover enable

    Active/standby device switchover is enabled.

By default, active/standby switchover is enabled.

  4. Run slave switchover

    An active/standby switchover is performed.
