Application Scenario for OpenFlow in VXLAN

SwitchA and SwitchB in Figure 5-6 are OpenFlow-compatible switches. The AC sets up OpenFlow and NETCONF connections with SwitchA and SwitchB respectively. The AC sends required information to SwitchA and SwitchB using the NETCONF protocol, and then SwitchA and SwitchB set up a VXLAN tunnel. The AC delivers all VXLAN-related entries to SwitchA and SwitchB. These entries contain the IP addresses and MAC addresses of the host. After receiving the entries, SwitchA and SwitchB computes the ARP entries to direct packet forwarding in the VXLAN tunnel.
