Configuring a DNS Test
Configuring a DNS Test
Context
A DNS test is based on UDP packets. Only one probe packet
is sent in one DNS test to detect the speed at which a DNS name is
resolved to an IP address. The test result clearly reflects the performance
of the DNS protocol on the network.
Procedure
Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
Run dns resolve
Dynamic DNS is enabled.
By default, dynamic DNS is
disabled.
Run nqatest-instanceadmin-nametest-name
An NQA test instance is created, and the NQA view is displayed.
By default, no NQA test instance is created.
Run test-typedns
The test type is set to DNS.
By default, no test type
is configured.
Run dns-serveripv4ip-address
An IP address is configured for the DNS server in the DNS
test instance.
By default, no IP address is configured for the
DNS server.
Run destination-addressurlurl-address
A destination URL is specified for the NQA test instance.
By default, no destination URL is configured for the NQA test
instance.
(Optional) Run the following commands as required to configure
parameters for the DNS test.
Run descriptionstring
A description is configured for the test instance.
By default, no description is configured for an NQA test instance.
Run frequencyinterval
The interval at which the NQA test instance is automatically
executed is set.
By default, the interval at which an NQA test
instance is automatically performed is not configured. That is, the
test is performed for one time.
Run timeouttime
The timeout period of a probe is set for the NQA test instance.
By default, the timeout period of an ICMP probe is 3 seconds.
NOTE:
When a DNS test instance is used, the frequency value
must larger than timeout.
Run source-addressipv4ip-address
A source IP address is configured for the probe packet.
By default, the IP address of the port that sends the probe packet
functions as the source IP address of the test instance.
Run vpn-instancevpn-instance-name
A VPN instance name is configured for the NQA test instance.
By default, the VPN instance name is _public_.
Run recordshistorynumber
The maximum number of historical records is set for the NQA
test instance.
By default, the number of history records is
60.
Run recordsresultnumber
The maximum number of result records is set for the NQA test
instance.
By default, the number of test results is 5.
Run agetimetime
The aging time is set for the NQA test instance.
The
default aging time of an NQA test instance is 0, indicating that the
test instance is not aged.
