Configuring Flow Sampling Resources


A device can use mirroring resources or snoop resources for flow sampling. If the device uses mirroring resources for flow sampling, flow sampling and port mirroring cannot be configured simultaneously on the same interface. If the device uses snoop resources for flow sampling, port mirroring and inbound flow sampling can be configured simultaneously on the same interface. In this case, you can also configure inbound port mirroring and outbound flow sampling simultaneously on the same interface.


Only the CE6875EI and CE6870EI support flow sampling resource configuration.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run sflow sampling [ rate rate ] inbound resource snoop

    Inbound flow sampling is configured to use snoop resource.

    By default, inbound flow sampling uses mirroring resources.

    If you run this command in the system view to configure inbound Flow sampling to use snoop resources, and run the sflow sampling rate rate inbound command in the interface view to configure inbound flow sampling, the flow sampling rate of snoop resources is configured as the inbound flow sampling rate on the interface.

  3. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
