Configuring sFlow Agent and Collector Information

Context

The sFlow controller's address is the destination address of sFlow packets.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run sflow agent { ip ip-address | ipv6 ipv6-address }

    An IP address is configured for the sFlow agent.

    By default, the IP address is the agent's outbound interface address in the route pointing to the collector.

    The IP address of the sFlow agent is contained in the data field of sFlow packets, and uniquely identifies the sFlow agent. It is recommended that the IP address of sFlow agents be configured manually.

    NOTE:

    When a CE6810LI functions as an sFlow agent, the sFlow agent will not select the IP address of the outbound interface of the route to the collector as its own IP address. To use this IP address, you must manually configure it. Otherwise, the Agent IP field will be incorrect.

  3. Run sflow source { ip ip-address | ipv6 ipv6-address }

    The source IP address of sFlow packets is configured.

    By default, the source IP address is the agent's outbound interface address in the route pointing to the collector.

    NOTE:

    When the number of routing entries exceeds the maximum specification, the switch cannot obtain the source IP addresses of sFlow packets. Therefore, you are advised to manually configure a source IP address for sFlow packets; otherwise, the source IP address may be incorrectly filled into the sFlow packets.

  4. (Optional) Run sflow export extended-route-data disable

    The sFlow packets sent by the switch do not carry routing information.

    By default, the sFlow packets sent by a switch carry routing information. This command can greatly improve switch performance. If the routing information is not required, run this command.

  5. (Optional) Run assign sflow management-plane export rate-limit rate-limit [ slot slot-id ]

    The rate of the sFlow packets sent from a switch to the control plane is limited.

    By default, the rate of the sFlow packets sent to the control plane is not limited.

    A switch sends sFlow packets to the control plane only when the switch selects the management interface to send sFlow packets to the sFlow Collector. If the assign sflow management-plane export rate-limit rate-limit slot slot-id command has been executed to limit the rate of sFlow packets sent from a specified slot to the control plane, the assign sflow management-plane export rate-limit rate-limit command cannot be run to limit the rate of sFlow packets sent from all slots to the control plane. If the assign sflow management-plane export rate-limit rate-limit command has been executed to limit the rate of sFlow packets sent from all slots to the control plane, the assign sflow management-plane export rate-limit rate-limit slot slot-id command cannot be run to limit the rate of sFlow packets sent from a specified slot to the control plane.

  6. Run sflow collector collector-id { ip ip-address | ipv6 ipv6-address } [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name | length length-value | udp-port udp-port-number | description description ] *

    Parameters are set for an sFlow collector.

    By default, no sFlow collector is configured. A maximum of two sFlow collectors can be configured in the system.

    NOTE:

    When the CE6875EI performs sFlow sampling in enhanced mode, the switch cannot send sFlow packets through the management interface. Therefore, if you plan to perform sFlow sampling in enhanced mode, deploy the sFlow collector on the network where the service port resides.

  7. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
