Enabling the MEP to Send and Receive CCMs

Context

Because different customers require different QoS, CFM provides different CCM intervals to meet requirements. If a MEP receives no CCMs from an RMEP within 3.5 consecutive intervals for sending CCMs, a connectivity fault between the MEP and RMEP occurs.

NOTE:

After CC based on the directly connected interface is configured, to configure CC based on the interface number and VLAN ID on the same link, ensure that outgoing CCMs are tagged.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run cfm md md-name

    The MD view is displayed.

  3. Run ma ma-name

    The MA view is displayed.

  4. Run ccm-interval interval

    The interval for a MEP to send or detect CCMs in an MA is set.

    By default, a MEP sends or detects CCMs every 1000 ms.

    All the MEPs in an MA must send or detect CCMs at the same interval.

  5. Run mep ccm-send [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

    The MEP is enabled to send CCMs.

    By default, a MEP is disabled from sending CCMs.

    If mep-id mep-id is not specified, all the MEPs in the MA are enabled to send CCMs.

  6. Run remote-mep ccm-receive [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

    The MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from the RMEP in the same MA.

    By default, a MEP is disabled from receiving CCMs from an RMEP.

    When a MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from an RMEP and CC detects a connectivity fault between the local MEP and RMEP, the MEP generates an alarm.

    If mep-id mep-id is not specified, the MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from all the RMEPs in the same MA.

  7. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.

Follow-up Procedure

  • To enable CC in multiple MAs, repeat step 3 to step 7.

  • To enable CC in multiple MDs, repeat step 2 to step 7.
