Configuring BFD for M-LAG


Generally, you do not need to configure a remote discriminator when configuring the one-arm BFD session function. You only need to configure a local discriminator. In the M-LAG scenario, you need to specify a remote discriminator when configuring the one-arm BFD function between the M-LAG device and a downstream device. Otherwise, the BFD status may be abnormal.


Only the CE8861EI, CE6865EI, and CE6857EI support this function.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before configuring BFD for M-LAG, configure the BFD echo function.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run bfd

    The BFD view is displayed.

  3. Run bfd forwarding match { remote-discriminator discr-value1 [ to discr-value2 ] } &<1-10>

    The remote discriminator is configured for the one-arm BFD session.

    By default, no remote discriminator is configured for the one-arm BFD session.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
