What Can I Do When the Host Status Is offline on eReplication After I Re-install the eReplication Agent on the Host

Symptom

After I uninstall and then re-install the eReplication Agent on the host, the host status is offline on eReplication.

Possible Causes

After the eReplication Agent is re-installed on the host, a new HostSN of the host is generated. As a result, the host status displayed on eReplication is offline.

Procedure

  1. Log in to eReplication. On the menu bar, select Resources.
  2. In the navigation tree, select the site where the host in the offline mode resides, and click Host.
  3. In the operation area, record the SN information about the host.
  4. Modify HostSN of the host.

The following uses Linux as an example.

    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the host as user root.
    2. Run the su - rdadmin command to switch to user rdadmin.
    3. Run the /home/rdadmin/Agent/bin/agentcli chghostsn command and modify HostSN of the host.

The following command output is displayed:
      Enter password of admin:
      NOTE:

admin is the user name configured during the OceanStor BCManager Agent installation.

    4. Type the login password of the OceanStor BCManager Agent and press Enter.

The following command output is displayed:
      Please Input HostSN:

    5. Type the host's SN recorded in 3 and press Enter.

The modification succeeds if the following command output is displayed:
      HostSN changed succ!

  5. Log in to eReplication. On the menu bar, select Resources.
  6. In the navigation tree, select the site where the host in the offline mode resides, and click Host.
  7. In the line of the host, click Refresh.
