High-Risk Operations

This section introduces the eReplication high-risk operations.

During O&M, you need to strictly follow the instructions when performing operations listed in Table 7-32. Otherwise, potential risks may be posed to running devices.

On a eReplication node, modify the operating system time.

Scheduled tasks are executed at inaccurate points in time.

In HA deployment scenarios, perform switchover of eReplication nodes.

The eReplication services interrupt during the switchover and will be restored after the switchover.

Stop eReplication.

eReplication cannot be accessed.

Uninstall eReplication.

eReplication cannot be accessed.

On a eReplication node, modify the permissions on the eReplication save directory.

eReplication may malfunction, which will result in eReplication unavailable.

On a eReplication node, replace a certificate.

A certificate replacement error may cause a service interruption.

On a eReplication node, modify the IP address of the operating system.

If the listening IP address of eReplication is modified, eReplication may become unavailable.

On a eReplication node, modify file /etc/hosts of the operating system.

eReplication may fail to be started.

On a eReplication node, modify user root's crontab rule.

The operating system may be restarted, after which eReplication cannot be started.
