Symptom

When executing a recovery plan on a host running Microsoft Windows Server 2012, the Failed to unmount the file system message is displayed if the production data of the SQL Server cluster resides on different partitions of a LUN.

Possible Causes

This is caused by patch problems of Microsoft Windows Server 2012.

Procedure

  1. Install the latest patch of Microsoft Windows Server 2012.
  2. Restart the operating system of the application server and perform the recovery plan.
