Managing Background Tasks

Some tasks that take a long time to execute run at the background, avoiding waiting a long time for the system to return the result. Managing a background task consists of viewing, searching, and clearing a task.


  1. In the upper right corner on the main page, click in the shortcut buttons area.

    The number displayed in indicates the number of failed tasks. For example, indicates that one task fails to be executed. Click the icon that the number is displayed in, the number will be cleared.

  2. In the Background Task dialog box that is displayed, view information about background tasks. Table 7-24 describes related parameters.

    From the Status right drop-down list, select a status that you want to query and click . Information about tasks of this status is displayed.

    Task execution result. The value can be Succeeded, Running or Failed.




    Name of a task.


    Updating a virtual intelligent storage system

    Object Name

    Name of a device that executes a task.



    Start On

    Time when the background task is started.

    End On

    Time when the background task is ended.

    Progress of a task.




    Detailed causes of a failed task. Click each failed task. In the Details area below the background task list, you can view detailed causes of the failed tasks.


    The device has been managed.

  3. Delete the selected task records.
    1. Select one or more tasks that you want to delete, and click Delete.

    2. Click OK.
