Interconnecting with ManageOne OperationCenter

Interconnecting with ManageOne OperationCenter

After the eReplication is interconnected with ManageOne OperationCenter, you can upload alarms on the backup server to the ManageOne OperationCenter in real time. Alarms can be easily obtained and centrally managed.

Prerequisites

  • The login IP address, username, and password of ManageOne OperationCenter have been obtained.
  • The IP address or floating IP address of ManageOne OperationCenter has been obtained.
  • The IP address and port number of the eReplication server's service management have been obtained.
  • The password of the administrator account used for logging in to the eReplication server has been obtained.
  • The network between the eReplication system and ManageOne OperationCenter is connected properly.
  • The northbound two-way authentication switch of OperationCenter server is off. For details, see Configuring the Northbound Two-way Authentication Switch in ManageOne OperationCenter 3.0.x Administrator Guide.
Ensure that the northbound two-way authentication switch of the OC server is disabled. If the switch is not disabled, the interconnection will fail.

Context

When eReplication is deployed in active/standby mode, interconnecting with ManageOne OperationCenter is not supported.

Procedure

  1. Configure the ManageOne OperationCenter.
    1. Log in to the ManageOne OperationCenter.
    2. On ManageOne OperationCenter, create an account to connect to eReplication (OpenAPI login login mode). For details about how to create the account, see Configuring User Management of the ManageOne OperationCenter online help.

      NOTE:
The operations may vary with different ManageOne OperationCenter versions.
The following steps use ManageOne OC 3.0.x as an example.
      1. On the GUI of OperationCenter, choose System > User Management > User.
      2. Click Create.
      3. Set parameters as prompted.
        • Login mode: OpenAPI login
        • User type: Local user
        • Username: Name of the user to be created. Example: eReplication
        • Password: Password of the user to be created. Example: Huawei@CLOUD8!
        • Confirm password: Enter the password of the user to be created again. Example: Huawei@CLOUD8!

Use the default values for other parameters.

      4. Click Next.
      5. Select System management group, and then click Next.
      6. Ensure that the information is correct, and then click Finish.
      7. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

    3. Add the IP address of the eReplication server to the IP address whitelist of ManageOne OperationCenter. For details, see Configuring Security Policies in the ManageOne OperationCenter online help.

      NOTE:
      • If eReplication is deployed in single-node mode, add the service management IP address of the eReplication server to the IP address whitelist of the ManageOne OperationCenter platform.
      • If eReplication is deployed in HA mode, add the floating IP addresses of eReplication servers to the IP address whitelist of ManageOne OperationCenter.

    4. On the OperationCenter page, choose System > Connection Management > Connect to Peer System.
    5. In the right function pane, click Connect to BCManager, and expand the Connect to BCManager area.
    6. Click Add in the Connect to BCManager area.
    7. Configure eReplication as prompted. Table 7-16 shows configuration information.

Table 7-16  Parameters of the eReplication system interconnected with the ManageOne OperationCenter

      Parameter

      Description

      Location

      Location of the eReplication system.

For details about the location, see Configuring Resources for Management of ManageOne OperationCenter online help.

      System name

Used for identifying the eReplication system.

      IP address

IP address of the eReplication system's service management plane.
      NOTE:

If eReplication is deployed in HA mode, enter the floating IP address of the eReplication service management.

      Port number

      Keep the default value.

      Description

      Description of the eReplication system.

    8. Decompress software package OceanStor BCManager 6.5.0xxx_eReplication_for_***.tar.gz or OceanStor BCManager 6.5.0xxx_eReplication_for_***.zip, and obtain the file alarm_help_en.xls.

      NOTE:
xxx indicates the version number and *** indicates the operating system type. For example, if a Windows system is used, the software package name of the DR software is OceanStor BCManager 6.5.0xxx_eReplication_for_Windows.zip.

    9. On the Alarm > Set Alarm > Alarm Help Maintenance page, import this file to ManageOne OperationCenter.
  2. Configure iptables.

This operation must be performed on both the active and standby nodes.

    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the eReplication Server management server.

      • In template-based installation mode: Log in as user DRManager, and run the su root command to switch to user root.
      • In software package-based installation mode: Log in as user root.
      NOTE:
The default password of user DRManager is Huawei@CLOUD8. In template-based installation mode, the default password of user root is Huawei@CLOUD8!.

    2. Run the following command to prevent PuTTY from exiting due to session timeout:

      TMOUT=0

      NOTE:

After you run this command, the system continues to run when no operation is performed, resulting a risk. For security purposes, you are advised to run the exit command to exit the system after completing your operations.

    3. Run the following command to configure iptables.

iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j SNAT --to-source Listening IP address -d Target IP address

      Example: iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j SNAT --to-source 192.168.1.2 -d 10.99.1.3

      NOTE:
      • Listening IP address: The floating IP address of eReplication is used in HA mode. The IP address of eReplication is used in single mode.
      • Target IP address: Domain Name/IP Address set in Alarm Interconnection Configuration. For details about parameters, see 3.d.

    4. Run the following command to save the current iptables rules.

      iptables-save > /etc/sysconfig/iptables

    5. Run the following command so that the iptables rules can be automatically uploaded upon system startup.

      • Red Hat/Euler Linux: echo "iptables-restore /etc/sysconfig/iptables" >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
      • SUSE Linux: echo "iptables-restore /etc/sysconfig/iptables" >> /etc/init.d/boot.local

If Listening IP address or Target IP address changes, you need to reconfigure the iptables rules.
    1. Run the following command to query the original iptables rules: iptables -t nat -L -n --line-numbers
    2. In the execution result, if the value of Chain is in the POSTROUTING list, obtain the num value of the to-be-deleted rule.
    3. Run the following command to delete the original iptables rules: iptables -t nat -D POSTROUTING num
    4. Repeat 2.c to 2.d to add iptables rules.

  3. Configure eReplication.

After you configure Alarm Interconnection Configuration of eReplication, the system can report alarms to OperationCenter.

    1. Log in to the eReplication page.
    2. On the menu bar, select Settings.
    3. In the navigation tree, click Cloud Service Configuration Management > ManageOne Interconnection Configuration.
    4. Configure Alarm Interconnection Configuration. Related parameters are described in Table 7-17.

Table 7-17  Alarm Interconnection Configuration settings

      Parameter

      Description

      Value

      Domain Name/IP Address

Domain name or IP address of the OperationCenter system
      NOTE:
You are advised to use the IP address of the OperationCenter system. If you deploy OperationCenter in active/standby mode, use the floating IP address.

      [Example]

      192.168.32.1

      Port

Port number of the OperationCenter system

      [Example]

To connect to OperationCenter 3.0.x: 63234

      Username
