Failed to Execute a Protected Group Because the VMware Tools Is Not Running

Failed to Execute a Protected Group Because the VMware Tools Is Not Running

Symptom

Executing a protected group fails because VMware Tools of the target VM is not running.

Possible Causes

The VMware Tools of the VM is not running. As a result, the VM fails to be checked.

Fault Diagnosis

Use VSphere Client to log in to the vCenter. Select the VM that failed to be checked based on the historical failure records of the protected group, click Summary, and check the VMware Tools running status in the summary of the VM. Not running(Current) is displayed.

Procedure

  1. Use VSphere Client to log in to the vCenter, select the VM that failed to be checked, and click on the toolbar to restart the VM.

  2. After the VM is restarted, log in to eReplication, execute the protected group again, and check whether the operation is successful.

    • If the operation is successful, the problem is solved.
    • If the operation fails, contact Huawei technical support engineers.
