Why Does the Protected Group Status Change from Executing to Failed Before and After the eReplication Server Restarts Upon an Unexpected Power Failure

Symptom

There is a protected group in the Executing state. However, after the eReplication server restarts upon an unexpected power failure and I log in to eReplication, the status of the protected group status in Execution Records is Failed but each step status in Execution Details is Succeeded.

Possible Causes

The unexpected power failure of the eReplication server causes the follow-up procedures of the protected group execution to be incomplete. After the eReplication server restarts, the protected group is identified as in the failed state.

Procedure

  1. Execute the protected group again.

The protected group can be manually executed or automatically executed based on the period configured on the protected group policy. You can immediately execute the protected group by manually performing the following steps:

    1. On the menu bar, select Protection. Select the protection type of the to-be-executed protected group.
    2. Select the to-be-executed protected group and click Execute in the Operation area.
    3. In the Warning dialog box that is displayed, read the content of the dialog box carefully and select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation.
    4. Click OK.
