Selecting an Execution Mode for Fault Recovery

Selecting an Execution Mode for Fault Recovery

Function

Select an execution mode for fault recovery.
  • Automatic switchover: If the arbitration result is that the remote server malfunctions, the HA service instance will automatically perform fault recovery.
  • Manual switchover: When the arbitration result is that the remote server malfunctions, fault recovery needs to be manually executed.

Format

Linux: configFailoverMode.sh

Parameters

None

Usage Guidelines

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the eReplication Server management server.
    • In template-based installation mode: Log in as user DRManager, and run the su root command to switch to user root.
    • In software package-based installation mode: Log in as user root.
    NOTE:
The default password of user DRManager is Huawei@CLOUD8. In template-based installation mode, the default password of user root is Huawei@CLOUD8!.
  2. Run the TMOUT=0 command to prevent PuTTY from exiting due to session timeout.
    NOTE:

After you run this command, the system continues to run when no operation is performed, resulting a risk. For security purposes, you are advised to run exit to exit the system after completing your operations.

  3. Run cd /opt/BCManager/Runtime/bin command to enter the script save path.
    NOTE:

In Linux, the installation path of the eReplication Server is /opt/BCManager. The path is fixed.

  4. Run the sh configFailoverMode.sh command and press Enter.
  5. Enter 1 or 2 to select an execution mode for fault recovery and press Enter.
    NOTE:
    • 1: automatic switchover
    • 2: manual switchover

Example

Linux is used as an example.

 linux-6fjq:/opt/BCManager/Runtime/bin
# sh configFailoverMode.sh You are going
to configure the VM fault recovery option. Input "1" for automatic
switchover or "2" for manual switchover: 1. automatic switchover (If
the arbitration result is that the remote server malfunctions, fault
recovery will be automatically performed.) 2. manual switchover (When
the arbitration result is that the remote server malfunctions, fault
recovery needs to be manually executed.) 1 You have configured that
services running on the faulty VM will be automatically switched.
