Configuring the System Log Reporting Function

Configuring the System Log Reporting Function

This operation enables the system to report system logs to the system log server. By doing this, log information can be easily obtained and centrally managed.

Prerequisites

  • The network of eReplication system and the log server is well connected.
  • The password of user admin for logging in to the eReplication system has been obtained.
  • When configuring the reporting of tenant operation logs, ensure that the IAM service has been connected. For details about how to connect to the IAM service, see Connecting to the IAM Service.

Context

  • System log reporting includes the administrator operation log reporting and tenant operation log reporting. This section uses how to enable the operation log reporting function as an example.
  • When eReplication is used with the FusionCloud6.3 solution, the administrator operation logs need to be reported to ManageOne for unified management.
  • Tenant operation log reporting can be successfully configured only when eReplication is used with the FusionCloud6.3 solution.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the eReplication system as user admin.
  2. On the menu bar, select Settings.
  3. In the navigation tree, choose Log Management > Operation log Report.
  4. Enable the administrator operation log reporting.

    1. Select Enable administrator operation log reporting.
    2. Enter the IP address and port number of the administrator operation log server.
      • Domain Name/IP Address indicates the management IP address of the administrator operation log server, for example, 10.142.28.197.
      • Port indicates the port of the administrator operation log server. The port number ranges from 1 to 65535, for example, 514.
      NOTE:
When eReplicationis used with the FusionCloud 6.3 solution, you need to log in to the ManageOne plane to obtain the IP address and portnumber. The following describes how to obtain the IP address and port number:
      1. Open a web browser, enter https://Floating IP address of the ManageOne O&M plane:31943, and press Enter.
      2. Enter the user name and password.

The default account and password are admin and Huawei12#$, respectively.

      3. Choose SystemSystem Access from the main menu.
      4. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Driver Life Cycle Management > Configuration Management. IP adress is Local IP address on the GUI.
      5. Obtain Local port based on security protocol set in 4.c.
        • When you set security protocol to TLS+TCP or SSL+TCP, click Syslog_TLS. Port is Local port on the GUI.
        • When you set security protocolto TCP, click Syslog_TCP, Port is Local port on the GUI.
    3. Select Security Protocol.
The TLS+TCP protocol is selected in the system by default. If you select the SSL+TCP or TCP protocol, a warning will be displayed. In this case, perform the following operations:
      1. In the Warning dialog box that is displayed, read the content of the dialog box carefully and select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation.
      2. Click OK.
      NOTE:
      • To ensure data transmission security, the TLS+TCP protocol is recommended.
      • The Syslog server must support the SSL and TCP communication protocols. For details about how to enable SSL and TCP on a Syslog server, see Importing CA Certificates of Devices.
      • The selected communication protocol must be the same as the protocol of the Syslog server port. Otherwise, logs cannot be reported.
    4. After confirming the configuration, click OK.

The Operation successful dialog box is displayed, indicating that the configuration is successful.

  5. Enable the tenant operation log reporting.

    1. Select Report Tenant Operation Log.
    2. Enter the IP address and port number of the tenant operation log server.
      • Domain Name/IP Address indicates the management IP address of the tenant operation log server, for example, 10.142.28.197.
      • Port indicates the port number of the tenant operation log server. The port number ranges from 1 to 65535, for example, 514.
      NOTE:
When eReplication is used with the FusionCloud6.3 solution, IP Address indicates the login IP address of the ManageOne operationplane, and Port indicates the port number of the ManageOne O&M plane.
    3. After confirming the configuration, click OK.

The Operation successful dialog box is displayed, indicating that the configuration is successful.
