Creating a Site

Creating a Site

Resources in a DR system are organized in sites. You can configure DR and protection for resources at a site or across sites. You need to create a local or remote site based on the DR network mode (local or remote).

At least one local site has been created on the remote eReplication management server and resources that need to be managed have been added to the site.

If two eReplication are deployed, add a remote management server to the local eReplication. In this manner, the local eReplication can manage local sites that are created on the peer end and added into the local eReplication.

The following lists the active-passive DR solution's requirements on the number of sites.
  • One eReplication: two local sites
  • Two eReplication: a production center (local site), a DR center (local site)

For protected objects of FusionSphere OpenStack, one eReplication and local site are required.

  1. On the menu bar, select Resources.
  2. In the navigation tree, select the management server where the sites are to be added.
  3. Click Create Site.
  4. Configure the site information by referring to Table 5-17.
