What Can I Do If the "Map snapshot" Step Takes too Long During a DR Test

Symptom

During a DR test, mapping snapshots on the DR host takes over 20 minutes. Typically, mapping snapshots only takes a few minutes.

Possible Causes

If a service IP address has been configured on the management server where the eReplication Server resides, communication between the eReplication Server and DR host is affected, causing no response to the DR service request in a long period.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management server of the eReplication Server, and check whether it has a service IP address configured.

    • If yes, verify that the service IP address is necessary. Otherwise, delete the service IP address.
    • If no, contact Huawei technical support.

Suggestion and Summary

During the network configuration of the management server, you are advised only to configure parameters related to DR to avoid impact on network communication.
