Creating a HANA Snapshot File

For a HANA database, you need to log in to the database to create a snapshot file for restoring the database before stopping the service system and database applications.

Prerequisites

  • A cross-platform remote access tool, such as PuTTY, has been prepared.
  • If the OceanStor BCManager management server runs Linux, the password of user root or DRManager has been obtained.
    NOTE:

The default password of user DRManager is Huawei@CLOUD8. In template-based installation mode, the default password of user root is Huawei@CLOUD8! .

Procedure

  • Use PuTTY to log in to the eReplication Server management server.

The user name is root and the default password is Huawei@CLOUD8!.

  • Run the su — dbladm command to switch to user dbladm.

The following command output is displayed:

    suse11-hana:/ # su - db1adm
    suse11-hana:/usr/sap/DB1/HDB01>

  • Run the hdbsql -i xx -n localhost:3xx15 -u system -p Huawei@123 -d yyy command to log in to the database.

‏The following command output is displayed:

Welcome to the SAP HANA Database interactive terminal.

Type: \h for help with commands
           \q to quit

    hdbsql DB1=>
    NOTE:

In the preceding command, xx indicates the instance ID, and yyy indicates the instance name. Change them based on the site requirements.

  • Run the BACKUP DATA CREATE SNAPSHOT command to generate a SAP HANA 1.0 snapshot file.

The following command output is displayed:

hdbsql DB1=> BACKUP DATA CREATE SNAPSHOT
13 rows affected (overall time 329.221 msec; server time 327.452 msec)

  • Run the BACKUP DATA FOR FULL SYSTEM CREATE SNAPSHOT command to generate a SAP HANA 2.0 snapshot file.
