Impact on the System

The expansion port on a controller enclosure or a disk enclosure is isolated and becomes unavailable.

Possible Causes

  • Expansion cables are not securely connected or damaged, causing bit errors.
  • The local port is faulty.
  • The peer port is faulty.


  1. Check whether any expansion cable is faulty.

    1. If yes, replace the faulty expansion cable. If the alarm persists=> Step2.
    2. If no=> Step2.

  2. Check whether expansion cables are securely connected.

    1. If yes=> Step3.
    2. If no, remove the expansion cable and reinsert it after three minutes. If the alarm persists=> Step3.

  3. Replace the module where the local expansion port resides. If the alarm persists=> Step4.
  4. Replace the module where the peer expansion port resides. If the alarm persists=> Step5.
  5. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
