Alarm

Major

Yes

Impact on the System

The used protection capacity of the storage pool reaches the alarm threshold.

Possible Causes

  • Snapshots are activated.
  • Asynchronous remote replications are created.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the threshold of data protection capacity in the storage pool can be improved.

    1. If yes, improve the threshold of data protection capacity in the storage pool. If the alarm persists=> Step2.
    2. If no=> Step2.

  2. Check whether snapshots are activated in the storage pool.

    1. If yes=> Step3.
    2. If no=> Step4.

  3. Check whether some snapshots in the storage pool can be deactivated.

    1. If yes, deactivate some snapshots in the storage pool. If the alarm persists=> Step4.
    2. If no=> Step4.

  4. Check whether asynchronous remote replications are created in the storage pool.

    1. If yes=> Step5.
    2. If no=> Step6.

  5. Check whether some asynchronous remote replications can be split or deleted.

    1. If yes, split or delete some asynchronous remote replications. If the alarm persists=> Step6.
    2. If no=> Step6.

  6. Expand the storage pool. If the alarm persists=> Step7.
  7. Collect all related information and contact technical support engineers.
