Possible Causes

  • The rate supported by the peer port is smaller than that of the port.
  • The cable to the port is loose or damaged.
  • A port component is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the rate of the port's peer port is smaller than that of the port.

    1. If no=> Step2.
    2. If yes, no further action is required.

  1. Check cable connections.

    1. Connect the cable correctly to the port. If the alarm persists=> 2.2.
    2. Replace the cable. If the alarm persists=> Step3.

  2. Replace the modules where the port and its peer port reside. If the alarm persists=> Step4.
