Impact on the System

LDAP/NIS authentication fails. NFS services are affected, and the data cannot be accessed normally.

Possible Causes

  • The LDAP/NIS server is shut down.
  • The device is incorrectly communicating with the LDAP/NIS server.
  • The certificate file of LDAPS client is revoked or expires.
  • The certificate file of LDAPS server is revoked or expires.

Procedure

  1. Check the status of the LDAP/NIS server.

    1. Check whether the LDAP/NIS server is started.
    2. Start the LDAP/NIS server. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.If yes, no further action is required.

  1. Check the network connectivity between the device and LDAP/NIS server.

    1. Check whether the device is correctly communicating with the LDAP/NIS server.
    2. Contact the network administrator to rectify the network fault. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.If yes, no further action is required.

  2. Check whether the LDAPS protocol is used.

    1. Check whether the CA certificate file, certificate file or private key file is damaged, revoked or expires.
    2. Import a new CA certificate file, certificate file or private key. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.If yes, no further action is required.

  3. Collect all related information and contact technical support engineers.
