Deployment Scenarios

Before installing the eBackup software, plan a deployment solution based on site requirements. This section describes deployment scenarios of the eBackup software in public cloud backup scenarios.

Figure 2-1 and Figure 2-2 show the deployment of the eBackup software in public cloud VBS and CSBS scenarios.

NOTE:

Deployment modes and locations of different components vary with projects. For details, contact project contact persons.

  • Karbor and eBackup Manager & Workflow are deployed on controller nodes of IaaS OpenStack at the cascading layer.
  • The eBackup Server & Proxy is deployed on VMs of the FusionCompute based on the IaaS OpenStack.
  • eBackup drivers need to be installed on all nodes of the OpenStack with role blockstorage-driver, blockstorage-driver-vrmxxx, or blockstorage-driver-kvmxxx (xxx can be 001, 002, or another value) assigned at the cascaded layer. eBackup drivers communicate with Cinder drivers and eBackup nodes.
  • The eBackup software saves the backup data of EVS disks to the object storage.
  • eBackup nodes can report alarms to a ManageOne OC server.
  • OpsMonitor or CloudMonitorCenter can be used to monitor performance of eBackup nodes.
