Backup object definition.

The value contains 4 to 65536 characters. A rule is presented as the full path of a backup object. Each level of path is presented as Keyword=Value. You can input the following keywords: POOL, LUN, ESX, Cluster, CNA, VM, Folder, DataCenter, VirtualApp, ResourcePool, Disk, and Datastore. Disk can only be used in a filter rule and appear after a full path. If the first keyword is Datastore, the supported format is:

  • Datastore=datastoreName1
  • Datastore=datastoreName1;-Datastore=datastoreName
  • Datastore=datastoreName1;-Datastore=datastoreName,Disk=X, where X indicates one or multiple disks that can be expressed by bus type, bus number, and slot number. A bus type can be SATA, SCSI, or IDE. A bus number can range from 0 to 9. A slot number can range from 0 to 60. For example, IDE:1:5. In addition, you can use symbol & to filter two or more disks, for example, IDE:0:0&SCSI:1:5, or you can use hyphens (-) to filter two or more disks whose bus numbers or slot numbers are consecutive, for example, IDE:0-3:0-29.
