Function

Modifies information about a storage unit.

Format

change storage_unit ID file_system_type [storage_unit_new_name=?] [new_path=?] [username(or AK)=?] protocol [description=?][storage_unit_level=?]

ID

ID of the storage unit that you want to modify.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 9223372036854775807.

file_system_type

The file system type of the storage unit.

Where:

  • NFS: NFS shared storage.
  • CIFS: CIFS shared storage.
  • S3: S3 storage.

storage_unit_new_name=?

User-defined new name of the storage unit.

The name contains a string of 1 to 128 characters which can only be letters, digits, Chinese characters, plus signs (+), underscores (_), hyphens (-), periods (.), and at signs (@).

new_path

Path.

Before changing a storage unit, the user should determine the type of the back-end storage. eBackup backup management system supports NAS and S3 as the back-end storage.

  • If the type of storage is NAS, the user can change the path of NAS shared storage for storage unit. NAS storage is classified into Network File System (NFS) shared storage and Common Internet File System (CIFS) shared storage.
  • If the type of storage is S3, the user can change the path of S3 shared storage for storage unit.
  • When using NFS shared storage as the back-end storage, the format of path is IP (or DomainName):/shared path, IP and DomainName indicate the service IP address and domain name of the NAS storage system, respectively. The shared path must contain 1 to 255 letters, digits, and can not end with slash (/). Special characters including .#%-=@{_}~/:. Such as /192.168.10.10:/home/storage.
  • When using CIFS shared storage as the back-end storage, the format of path is //IP (or DomainName)/shared path, IP and DomainName indicate the service IP address and domain name of the NAS storage system, respectively. The shared path must contain 1 to 255 letters, digits, and can not end with slash (/). Special characters including .#%-=@{_}~/:. Such as //192.168.10.10/home/storage.
  • When using S3 shared storage as the back-end storage, the format of path is IP (or DomainName):/bucket name, IP and DomainName indicate the service IP address and domain name of the S3 storage system, respectively. The length of the path must be 1~513. And the length of bucket name must be 3~255. It can contain letters, digits , . , - , _ . Such as 192.168.10.10:/vbsw6dhuj8hstorage.

username=?

Name of the user accessing the CIFS share storage.

The length is 1 to 128 characters.

Password

Password of the user accessing the CIFS shared storage.

The length is 1 to 256 characters.

AK=?

AK for accessing the S3 storage unit. AK and username will not both appear in one command line.

The length is 1 to 128 characters.

SK

SK for accessing the S3 storage unit. SK and Password will not both appear in one command line.

The length is 1 to 256 characters.

protocol

Protocol for communication between the backup system and the S3 storage unit.

The protocol can be: http_protocol or https_protocol.

Network security risks exist if using http_protocol . Therefore, https_protocol is recommended.

description=?

Description of the storage unit.

The description contains a maximum of 1024 characters.

storage_unit_level=?

Storage unit levels: default, tier 1, and tier 2.

The value can be 0, 1, or 2.

  • Value 0 indicates that the storage unit level is default: The storage unit can serve as tier 1 and 2 backup storage units concurrently.
  • Value 1 indicates that the storage unit level is tier 1: Applicable to local backup, and the supported storage unit types involve NAS and S3.
  • Value 2 indicates that the storage unit level is tier 2: Applicable to remote copy, and the supported storage unit types involve NAS and S3.
