Function

Performs file-level restoration.

Format

restore FileLevel machine_uuid backup_image_id disk_list attach_mode [iscsi_initiator_name] [dest_protected_environment_type] [protected_environment_id] [destination_machine_uuid] [mode=?] [chap_auth_type=?] [target_chap_name=?] [initiator_chap_name=?]

Value

machine_uuid

UUID of the original VM, it is assigned by backup management system, not the universally unique identifier of the VM in the protected environment.

The value contains 36 characters which can be 0-9, a-f, A-F, and hyphens (-).

backup_image_id

Backup image ID.

The value contains 36 characters which can be 0-9, a-f, A-F, and hyphens (-).

disk_list

Disk list.

The value can be all_disks or disk UUID. If you want to restore multiple disks, separate every two disk UUIDs by a comma. A disk UUID contains 36 characters which can be 0-9, a-f, A-F, and hyphens (-).

attach_mode

Mount mode.

The value can be:

  • manual,
  • semi_automatic,
  • automatic.

iscsi_initiator_name

iSCSI initiator name.

This parameter is valid only when attach_mode is manual.

The value can be all or a string of 1 to 244 characters started with iqn or eui.

dest_protected_environment_type

Type of the destination protected environment.

This parameter is valid only when attach_mode is manual.

The value can be:

  • VMware
  • None.

protected_environment_id

ID of the protected environment where the destination VM is located.

This parameter is valid only when attach_mode is automatic or semi_automatic.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 9223372036854775807.

destination_machine_uuid

UUID of the destination VM, it is assigned by backup management system, not the universally unique identifier of the VM in the protected environment.

This parameter is valid only when attach_mode is automatic or semi_automatic.

The value contains 36 characters which can be 0-9, a-f, A-F, and hyphens (-).

mode=?

Restoration mode. Whether data can be written to the disks mounted to the destination VM.

The value can be:

read_only, In FusionSphere scenario this mode is not supported, for it may cause malfunction of the target virtual machine.

read_write

chap_auth_type=?

The type of CHAP authentication.

This parameter is valid only when attach_mode is manual.

The value can be:

  • noAuth;
  • one-way;
  • mutual.

target_chap_name=?

The user name of target for CHAP.

This parameter is valid only when chap_auth_type is one-way or mutual.

The name contains 3 to 32 characters which can only be letters, digits, and underscores (_), and must start with a letter.

initiator_chap_name=?

The user name of initiator for CHAP.

This parameter is valid only when chap_auth_type is mutual.

The name contains 3 to 32 characters which can only be letters, digits, and underscores (_), and must start with a letter.
