Changing an ESN

Changing an ESN

The license file may become invalid due to an ESN change caused by a server (where OceanStor BCManager eBackup resides) change, a newly added server, or a NIC change. If you want to continue using the eBackup function, follow the steps and import the license after an ESN change.

In this case, obtain the current ESN of the server (For details about Obtaining the ESN the ESN), and log in to the ESDP to exchange for the new commercial license file.


  1. Log in to the ESDP ( and choose License Commission and Maintenance > ESN Change > Product Hardware Change.

  2. Select ESN Change Without Revocation Code in ESN Change Type and click Select Equipment (Node) to check the equipment information.

  3. On the Select Equipment (Node) page, enter the ESN before change and click Search.

  4. Select the queried equipment (node) and click OK.
  5. Submit the ESN change.

    1. Select the correct region.
    2. Select the correct representative office.
    3. Select the correct approver.
    4. Enter the ESN change application reasons.
    5. Enter the new ESN.
    6. After the preceding operations, click Submit.
