Adding a Storage Node

This operation is risky. You must confirm whether to continue to execute the command.

Run the following command to add a storage node:

./dswareTool.sh --op addStorageNode -poolId poolId -mediaType sas_disk/sata_disk/ssd_card/ssd_disk -cacheType nvdimm/ssd_card/ssd_disk/none/mem_sim -f pathname

Parameter

Description

./dswareTool.sh

Specifies an executable program for the tool.

--op addStorageNode

Adds a storage node.

-poolId poolId

Specifies the ID of the storage pool to be expanded, for example, poolId can be set to 0.

-mediaType sas_disk/sata_disk/ssd_card/ssd_disk

Specifies the main storage type. The value can be sas_disk/sata_disk/ssd_card/ssd_disk.

-cacheType nvdimm/ssd_card/ssd_disk/none/mem_sim

Specifies the cache type. The value can be nvdimm/ssd_card/ssd_disk/none/mem_sim.

-f pathname

Specifies the path for storing the file of the storage node to be added, for example, /opt/dsware/client/conf/dsware.xml.

An example is provided as follows:

dsware@FSM:/opt/dsware/client/bin> ./dswareTool.sh --op addStorageNode -poolId 0 -mediaType sas_disk -cacheType none -f /opt/dsware/client/conf/dsware.xml

NOTE:

Modify the /opt/dsware/client/conf/dsware.xml configuration file based on the actual environment condition before running this command. A taskId value is displayed after the command is successfully ran. Then you can run the queryTaskInfo command to query the process of the node adding task.
