  • If the NTP server is unavailable, time synchronization is unavailable.
  • If the SMTP mail server is unavailable, emails cannot be sent successfully.
  • If the syslog server is unavailable, system logs cannot be saved.
  • If the alarm dump server is unavailable, historical alarms cannot be saved.
  • If the performance dump server is unavailable, performance statistics cannot be saved.

Possible Causes

  • The server address is incorrectly configured.
  • The storage system is disconnected from the server.
  • The user name and password for logging in to the server are incorrectly configured.
  • The path of dump servers does not exist, does not have the write permission, or does not have sufficient space.
  • The NTP certificate is unavailable.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the server address is correctly configured.
    1. If no, correct the configuration.
    2. If yes=> Step2.
  2. Check the server type.
    1. If the server is an NTP server=> Step4.
    2. If the server is of other types=> Step3.
  3. Check whether the user name and password of the server are correctly configured.
    1. If no, correct the configurations.
    2. If yes=> Step4.
  4. Check whether the network connection between the node and the server is correct.
    1. If no, recover the network connection.
    2. If yes and the server is an NTP server=> Step6.
    3. If yes and the server is of other types=> Step5.
  5. Check whether the dump server path is configured correctly and has the write permission.
    1. If no, correct the configurations.
    2. If yes=> Step7.
  6. If certificates are enabled, Check whether the NTP certificate matches the server certificate.
    1. If no, import the correct NTP certificate.
    2. If yes=> Step7.
  7. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
