High-Speed Cable

This section describes the functions, appearance, and technical specifications of a high-speed cable.

Function

High-speed cables used in devices are categorized as:

  • QSFP+ high-speed cables

    When 10GE/25GE switches are used on the network, QSFP+/QSFP28+ high-speed cables are used to connect two stacked 10GE switches.

  • SFP+ high-speed cables

    When 10GE/25GE switches are used on the network, SFP+ high-speed cables are used to connect a storage node and a 10GE/25GE switch.

Appearance

Both ends of a QSFP+ or QSFP28+ high-speed cable are QSFP+ connectors, as shown in Figure A-98.

Both ends of an SFP+ high-speed cable are SFP+ connectors, as shown in Figure A-99.
