Label Specifications

Label Specifications

This section describes specifications for writing and printing labels.

Printed Engineering Labels

For higher efficiency and better appearance, printing of engineering labels is recommended. When using a printer to prepare engineering labels, observe the following:

  • Use a laser printer.
  • Before printing a label, try printing on ordinary blank paper to check for mistakes.
  • When printing a label, manually feed label paper into the printer to prevent paper jams. Different from the common printing paper, the label paper has two layers and is printed and cut by knife mold. Feed the label paper from the correct direction and position based on the printer model.

Hand-Written Labels

To ensure legibility, tidy layout, and long-lasting handwriting, note the following:

  • Use the black oil-based markers delivered with the device to write labels.
  • The font in handwriting should be close to the standard typeface (Times New Roman) as much as possible. Figure A-121 shows the standard typeface.

  • Write characters in proper size depending on the number of digits and letters. The characters should be clear, distinct, and tidy.
  • Write labels in the same format as that in printed labels.
