Installing a TaiShan 2280 V2 25-Slot Node

Installing a TaiShan 2280 V2 25-Slot Node

Installing a TaiShan 2280 V2 25-slot node into the cabinet includes sliding the node into the cabinet, fastening the node, and checking the installation.

TaiShan 2280 V2 25-slot nodes are supported only by FusionStorage or later.

  • Operations described in Installing a Huawei Cabinet or Checking a Third-Party Cabinet have been completed.
  • Holding rails have been installed.
  • All required tools have been prepared, including M3 to M6 Phillips screwdrivers, M6 screws, and protective gloves.
  • The CPU, DIMM, riser card, PCIe card on the riser card, PCIe card, and built-in disks (optional) of the node have been installed. If any of the parts is not installed, see related contents of the TaiShan 2280 V2 25-slot node in Parts Replacement to install it.

  • A fully configured TaiShan 2280 V2 25-slot node weighs up to 25 kg. Arrange for at least two persons to carry it and ensure that they wear protective gloves to avoid personal injury.
  • Install components into a cabinet from bottom to top to prevent the cabinet from falling over.

  1. Install a TaiShan 2280 V2 25-slot node.

    1. Pull out the inner rails as far as they will go. See Figure 8-43.
Figure 8-43 Pulling out an inner rail
    1. Align the screws on the node with the notches on the inner rails, push the node inwards until you hear a sound, and ensure that the latches eject and completely block the screws to affix the node to the inner rails. See Figure 8-44.
Figure 8-44 Attaching the node to the rails
    2. Press the release buttons on both sides and push the node into the cabinet along the holding rails. See Figure 8-45.

    1. (Optional) Tighten the captive screws on the mounting ears to secure the node. See Figure 8-46.
      Figure 8-46 Securing the node

  2. Install the cable management arm (CMA).

    1. Insert the support lever into both left and right outer rails. See step 1 in Figure 8-47.
    2. Insert the nail heads on the outer left rail into the holes on the outer support lever of the CMA, and pull the CMA out to secure it. See step 2 in Figure 8-47.
    3. Insert the nail heads on the inner left rail into the holes on the inner support lever of the CMA, and pull the CMA out to secure it. See step 3 in Figure 8-47.

  3. Optional: Install front disks.

    1. Fully raise the ejector lever and push a disk into the chassis along the guide rails until it does not move. See step 1 in Figure 8-48.

To ensure favorable heat dissipation, insert disks in the sequence of disk slot numbers. If disk modules or PCIe cards are not fully configured, install filler panels into vacant disk or PCIe slots.

    1. Ensure that the ejector lever is fastened to the chassis beam, and lower the ejector lever to completely insert the disk into the chassis. See step 2 in Figure 8-48.
