This section describes the function, appearance, ports, indicators, physical structure, and technical specifications of a 5288 V5 36-slot node.

Function

Huawei 5288 V5 36-slot node is a new-generation 4 U dual-socket or single-socket storage rack server that adopts an efficient design to ensure excellent computing performance and large-capacity local storage with elastic scalability. The server is applicable to cold data storage, video surveillance, cloud storage, and big data, and can be widely used in a variety of industries, such as media and entertainment, finance, and public security.

Functions as the system serial port by default. You can set it as the iMana 200 serial port by using the iMana 200 command. This port is used for debugging.

Indicators

You can initially determine the operating status of a 5288 V5 36-slot node by observing its indicators.

  • ---: The node is operating properly.
  • Error code: A fault occurs in node hardware.

    Log in to https://support.huawei.com/enterprise, enter server model 5288 V5 in the search box, and click the associated path that is displayed. The corresponding product page is displayed. Click Documentation, and search for and download the document of the desired version.

Health indicator

  • Steady green: The node is operating properly.
  • Blinking red at 1 Hz: A major alarm is generated.
  • Blinking red at 5 Hz: A critical alarm is generated.

UID button/indicator

The UID button/indicator helps identify and locate a node. You can turn on or off the UID indicator by pressing the UID button or remotely running a command on the CLI.

  • Steady blue: The node is located.
  • Off: The node is not located.
NOTE:

To reset iBMC, hold down the UID button for 4 to 6 seconds.

Power button/indicator

  • Off: The node is not powered on.
  • Blinking yellow: iBMC is being started.
  • Steady yellow: The system is to be powered on.
  • Steady green: The system is properly powered on.
NOTE:

Press and hold down the power button for 6 seconds to power off the node.

Disk fault indicator

  • Off: The disk is operating properly or cannot be detected in the RAID group.
  • Blinking yellow: The disk is being located, or rebuilding RAID.
  • Steady yellow: The disk is not detected or is faulty.

Disk activity indicator

  • Off: The disk is not detected or is faulty.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the disk, or synchronized between disks.
  • Steady green: The disk is inactive.

Network port link status indicator

Each indicator shows the status of an Ethernet LOM port.

  • Steady green: The network port is properly connected.
  • Off: The network port is not in use or has failed.

  • Off: There is no AC power input, the input overvoltage or undervoltage occurs and the power module is not detected, or the power module is abnormal.

Disk activity indicator

  • Off: The disk is not detected or is faulty.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the disk, or synchronized between disks.
  • Steady green: The disk is inactive.

Disk fault indicator

  • Off: The disk is operating properly or cannot be detected in the RAID group.
  • Blinking yellow: The disk is being located, or rebuilding RAID.
  • Steady yellow: The disk is not detected, the disk is faulty, or the status of the RAID to which the disk belongs is abnormal.
NOTE:

If the indicator is steady yellow, run the Show command to check the RAID status to identify whether the RAID status is abnormal or whether the disk is faulty. For details about the command, see the Huawei Server RAID Controller Card User Guide.
